It is important for family caregivers to learn some skills and have important information at hand to help them provide assistance to their loved ones in both an efficient and safe manner. Hospis Malaysia’s Workshop for Caregivers is a multi-session programme that teaches families and caregivers the skills they need to care for a patient at home.
Held once a month, the sessions are designed to introduce the caregiver to some basic caregiving and nursing skills needed to help them better manage the symptoms and effects of a disease.
Time is allotted for a brief information sharing session, hands-on demonstrations, and individual questions. Information on caregiver resources will also be provided. Caregivers will benefit by feeling more confident in caring for their loved one at home and from reduced stress. Workshops are offered at no charge.
